Financials & commodities tumble across the Asia Pacific markets

Posted on 05 October 2008

Want to know why Friday’s high of 300 points in the black ended the session 150 in the red despite the passing of the 7 billion bailout package???

Two reasons. The recession in the USA is much bigger than a 7 billion dollar bailout package. Fridays jobless figures were absolutely horrendous, 159,000 jobs were lost in September, the largest drop in five years. And rumours of potential bank and insurance failures across Europe were making themselves heard loud and clear across the atlantic. (more…)

VP debate debatable??!!

Posted on 05 October 2008

Has America gone mad?

Pundits on the left and right were earnestly discussing whether Palin had done enough to put the horrors of the Katie Couric interview behind her and if she had, who won the debate?

Did the folksy, youbetcha, johnny six pack, wink wink, i dont have a clue so i will ignore the moderator’s questions and talk about energy again and again Palin, put in a stronger performance than Biden? (more…)

Oh Really O’Reilly!!!

Posted on 04 October 2008

Thursday night was supposed to be all about the drama of the VP debate. Would Biden behave himself? Would Palin be able to string a couple of unrehearsed sentences together in english?

Well the real drama of the evening was The O’reilly Factor, an hour before the debate.

Yes, good old Bill takes on the corrupt political establishment for the common man.

The sacrificial lamb in this instance was CongressMan Barney Frank…… (more…)

Stick the beer in the fridge – its the veep debate night!!!

Posted on 02 October 2008

I have no doubt in my mind that tonite will break all records for VP debate viewing figures.

Why? Because so many of the people that I have asked whether they arre going to watch the debate are saying that they will be inviting friends and family around and making it a party night, like the suberbowl final…..loads of beer, doritos and other comfort foods.

It is clear that they are expecting a spectacle and so the debate moves from being an oppurtunity to make an informed decision about who gets elected president and vice president to what many believe will be a comedy of errors and thats entertainment!!

People are actually betting on how many gaffes Biden will make and how transparent Palin’s total lack of understanding the issues of the day will be.

Amazing. Presidential politics reduced to prime time entertainment. Probably just what the doctor ordered given the gloom over the economy.

Marriot Courtyard hotel takes animated advertising to new levels

Posted on 01 October 2008

Skimming through the websites to keep a pulse on both right wing and left wing news and blogs, I came across a stunning ad for the Marriot Courtyard hotel on www.foxnews.com

Why stunning? Because it caught my attention in a major way. Which is the whole point of advertising. Watch it and you will see what I mean immediately!!

The internet never ceases to amaze me in what can be achieved when matched with human creativity.

Ask yourself if the internet is an indispensable part of your life. If it is not, you just don’t realise it!!…. (more…)

St Jude’s Hospital

There is nothing more painful for a parent than to see their child suffer. The agony of feeling utterly helpless when he cries in pain is beyond description. The constant and continual fear that your child will be lost before he can receive the treatment that will save him is almost unbearable. Adding impact to [...]

Make A Wish!

Posted on 28 December 2009

Growing up I had always heard of Make A Wish, knew the basic premise of what they did, but never really appreciated what was involved or how and when the charity begun and where it is today. Luckily for me, their website Wish.org provides an extensive biography of the charity and the work it performs. [...]

Newsweek Needs To Grow Up.

Posted on 17 November 2009

I am no fan of Sarah Palin. I don’t believe that she has any right to be a torchbearer for anything political since giving up the governership of Alaska. Her naked ambitions to run for President are all too apparent, no matter how poorly she attempts to disguise it. Her well timed book publication and its [...]
