For all those unfamiliar with the term mamzer, it comes from the Hebrew vocabulary for its literal translation – bastard…but lets upper case the word to MAMZER and perhaps even bold the word to MAMZER and for emphasis lets italic the word to MAMZER.
It still provides little relief to those whose life savings have been stolen, those whose retirement were dependent on those ill fated investments with Madoff. (more…)

That’s official as of today, but he was dead the moment Abraham Lincoln turned over in his grave according to State Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald.
His political brethren in the Illinois State Senate were full of “yes we want him outs”, worried that allowing Blago in office a moment more than was legally necessary would taint the whole Illinois political machine.
So , in some way I do believe Blago when he says he is being made a scapegoat by those “out to get him”.
Not for lofty ideals such as getting benefits for his state’s needy no matter what, even if it meant going around the state legislature to get it done, whatever that means.
But that being exposed as a rotten apple puts the media focus on the political careers of every Illinois politician and whether there was is any sport left to be uncovered in pay to play politics.
Thus, with the votes coming in full of yesses and zero no’s, Illinois has ejected Blago, hoping he will take the media circus away with him and things can then return to politics as usual; Illinois style.

You would think there would be more historic and memorable things to write about the current president taking office less than a week ago, but it is this that I am personally most grateful for.
After eight years of Bush not being able to complete a sentence, every press conference he gave made me nauseous in case he started to gabble nonsense at the point where he could no longer continue in English. (more…)

Lets face it….no one was prepared for the havoc that began to unfold within weeks of Bear Stearns going under in the Fall of 2008.

Insurance companies, Mac and Mae, a quasi governmental house lending institution was on life support and the biggest bailout plan in the history of America to the tune of 700 billion dollars (and counting) became law after a lot of bipartisan bickering in both houses. There is nothing more painful for a parent than to see their child suffer. The agony of feeling utterly helpless when he cries in pain is beyond description. The constant and continual fear that your child will be lost before he can receive the treatment that will save him is almost unbearable. Adding impact to [...]

Growing up I had always heard of Make A Wish, knew the basic premise of what they did, but never really appreciated what was involved or how and when the charity begun and where it is today. Luckily for me, their website Wish.org provides an extensive biography of the charity and the work it performs. [...]

I am no fan of Sarah Palin. I don’t believe that she has any right to be a torchbearer for anything political since giving up the governership of Alaska. Her naked ambitions to run for President are all too apparent, no matter how poorly she attempts to disguise it. Her well timed book publication and its [...]
