The Real Death Panels.

Posted on 16 October 2009

Yes, Sarah Palin gets herself in the news every now and again with her brain dead comments regarding healthcare and other social issues of our times.

Yet Palin, with a Down Syndrome child  of her own, should understand the plight of so many people who are turned down by the insurance companies with the “you’re fucked” clause, otherwise known as the pre-existing condition.

This standard bearer excuse of insurance company profit machines would be illegal in most developed countries since in most developed countries, healthcare is a birthright, not a privilege of those who can afford it. (more…)

Huge Gains On The Dow, S&P, And Nasdaq

Posted on 05 May 2009

Looking back to September of last year we are still down over 2000 points. Looking back to March the second of this year, we are up just shy of 2000 points.

So the market took six months to drop almost 50% and two months to claw back around 27%.

The big question is does one invest in the market now, hoping the momentum upwards will continue, or will the markets lose some of those gains as it stops to catch its breath…. (more…)

PRESIDENT OBAMA RECEIVES A VERY ROYAL WELCOME.

Posted on 01 April 2009

Yes, despite making friendly friendly with Russia and China today, and dodging the question as to who would win the world cup during a joint press conference with the British PM Gordon Brown, Obama knew what was really the most important event of the day.

As eleven American presidents before him have realised, that when you land on UK soil, you have tea with the queen of England! The conversation must have been electrifying!!

Twitter -The Real Deal (Part 1)

Posted on 18 March 2009

How many of us hear of a great new site from our friends and business aquaintences only to promptly forget about it the next day?

It took me nearly 11 years since the birth of the internet to find out what all the fuss was about. Everyone I knew had dial up access but it was not until I entered the job market and had access to high speed internet that I actually got myself connected at home. For a couple of years prior, I would always go to an internet cafe to check up on my emails….. (more…)

American Economy Brought To Its Knees

Posted on 02 March 2009

I remember the day when in 2005, my ex-wife and I bought our second home in Phoenix using the no docs loan route.

We “qualified”  with a $5000 downpayment for a $280,000 loan. Once we included some nice furniture and a pool, it increased the grand total to $310,000. This was in addition to the existing mortgage on our first home where we has a mortgage of $180,000.

I didn’t understand how we had managed to get the luxury lifestyle that normally comes a little later on in life. I thought things through a lot for a couple of weeks and realized that if the tide turned on the housing market we could be out of one if not two houses. (more…)

St Jude’s Hospital

Posted on 05 January 2010

There is nothing more painful for a parent than to see their child suffer. The agony of feeling utterly helpless when he cries in pain is beyond description. The constant and continual fear that your child will be lost before he can receive the treatment that will save him is almost unbearable. Adding impact to [...]

Make A Wish!

Posted on 28 December 2009

Growing up I had always heard of Make A Wish, knew the basic premise of what they did, but never really appreciated what was involved or how and when the charity begun and where it is today. Luckily for me, their website Wish.org provides an extensive biography of the charity and the work it performs. [...]

This is a story about the best and worst that humanity has to offer. From the depths of cruelty, despair and hopelessness to the freedom of life, liberty and economic self sufficiency. Newsweek Needs To Grow Up.

Posted on 17 November 2009

I am no fan of Sarah Palin. I don’t believe that she has any right to be a torchbearer for anything political since giving up the governership of Alaska. Her naked ambitions to run for President are all too apparent, no matter how poorly she attempts to disguise it. Her well timed book publication and its [...]
